This is why podiatry plays an important role in residential aged care facilities. We help by managing your resident's foot & lower limb health, reduce pressure injuries, maintaining mobility & independence and reducing falls risk.

A comprehensive initial and on-going podiatry assessments for every resident, including skin integrity and condition, toenail health, foot deformities, pressure areas and foot health risk, and pedal neurovascular health

Development of individual care plans for each resident to ensure their foot care needs are appropriately met to maintain foot health and prevent any pedal complications

General podiatric treatments including the management of toenails, calluses, corns, ingrown toenails & fungal infections

Diabetic foot care, including the management and prevention of diabetic ulcers

Treatment plans for the management of foot deformities including bunions and hammertoes

Assessment and treatment of acute and chronic painful musculoskeletal conditions of the foot and ankle

Footwear assessments and education to assist with the prevention of pressure injuries and reducing falls risk

Podiatric education and training for care/nursing staff to assist them with providing high level of foot care monitoring to all residents

Regular visiting schedules are established and communicated via email so that residents are getting the foot care they need

We support your home by ensuring all eligible residents are bulk billed to Medicare through the CDM program, and entitled residents are fully covered by the Department of Veterans Affairs

Following infection control procedures that are in line with guidelines provided by the Australian Podiatry Association to reduce the risk of exposure and transmission of infection​
